Kenai Peninsula Builders & Crafters: Join the Kenai Resilience Builders & Crafters network!
Together, we can share green and natural building skills, organize mutually supportive work parties, supply our members with local Alaskan materials: Delta straw, local clay, spruce timbers, safe natural insulations. Let’s build more and more beautiful, low-cost, efficient, non-toxic homes locally! Let’s make quality furniture and pottery!
We organize workshops and internships to learn how to build this way, and learn how to source quality, local, natural and recycled building materials for a long lasting, nurturing home.

-

Dream It.
Please share with us your home design or natural craft design and dreams! We want to learn and dream together about the time honored principles around placement, flow, efficiency, beauty and individual expression. We want to create opportunities to share knowledge and locally grounded wisdom.
-

Learn it.
What do you need to learn to build your home, heater, furniture or craft naturally, with local materials, economically and with your own hands? Do you have the tools and expertise you need? How can we help? There are workshops happening, and there are internship positions often available.
-

Source it.
Let us help you discover low cost plentiful sources of Alaskan straw, clays, Alaskan grown and milled logs, timbers and lumber, and access to local clay/lime plaster finishes of rich colors and textures, or natural locally produced insulations. We may have limited grant funds available for these as well.
-

Access it.
Our network is for DIY builders of all ages, stages, abilities, and backgrounds. Experts can share their knowledge and tips with beginners. Teams can form to research unknowns, and together, we can bring in outside experts as needed.
-

Build it.
We organize local work parties and create opportunities to access help with your building project, and offer help with others’ projects in return. Two compatible builders are five times faster than one! We hope that each project can build momentum for the next.
-

Share it.
The Kenai Resilience Builders & Crafters Network can mutually support each-others’ small craft businesses as well, with referrals, mutual advertising, and a shared tool library.
