KENAI RESILIENCE NATURAL BUILDING FOLKSCHOOL

Contact us to learn more about natural home building!

Together, we can share and learn natural building skills. Let’s build more and more beautiful, low-cost, efficient, non-toxic homes on the Kenai Peninsula and beyond.

We organize free workshops and free internships to learn how to build with, and to source quality, local, natural and recycled building materials for a long lasting, nurturing home.

  • Dream It.

Please share with us your home design or natural craft design and dreams! We want to learn and dream together about the time honored principles around placement, flow, efficiency, beauty and individual expression. We want to create opportunities to share knowledge and locally grounded wisdom.

  • Learn it.

What do you need to learn to build your home, heater, furniture or craft naturally, with local materials, economically and with your own hands? Do you have the tools and expertise you need? How can we help? There are workshops happening, and there are internship positions often available.

  • Source it.

Let us help you discover low cost plentiful sources of Alaskan straw, clays, Alaskan grown and milled logs, timbers and lumber, and access to local clay/lime plaster finishes of rich colors and textures, or natural locally produced insulations.

  • Access it.

Our folkschool is for DIY builders of all ages, stages, abilities, and backgrounds. Experts can share their knowledge and tips with beginners, and everyone has something to contribute.

  • Build it.

We organize local workshops and create live-in opportunities to help out with natural building projects so that you can learn with your hands and body, not just your head. We hope that each project can build the natural building knowledge base as well as workforce.

  • Share it.

The Kenai Resilience Natural Building Folkschool has on-going builds and projects. Reach out to learn more!
